Bad boy Dr Rozmey seeks bad girl Pamela Anderson's help for his image

Datuk Dr Che Rozmey Che Din, the glamour seeking O&G specialist turned businessman cum film maker is never one to shy away from controversy.

Not long ago he was in a dispute with officials at Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional (Finas) and Lembaga Penapis Filem Malaysia (LPF).

All this for trying to get a slot for his first film production Dua Alam on his choice of screening dates.

Actually, all the problem was due to the eligibility of his movie's Syarat Wajib Tayang which I think is a matter of simple government bureaucracy which Dr Rozmey failed to adhere to. How can you get a screening date if you don't have a Syarat Wajib Tayang? and how can you get Syarat Wajib Tayang if you don't apply for one?: Skim Wajib Tayang belum terima permohonan daripada Dr Rozmey.

To obtain a screening date, a film traditionally will be put in queue for an available slot. The film will, under Syarat Wajib Tayang, be given 14 days of compulsory screening by cinema operators. 

Due to this controversy, Dr Rozmey has made a fuss over the matter saying a lot of negative things about Finas and the Syarat Wajib Tayang. He wants to skip this process and go straight to the cinema hall. To make matters worse, it was reported that the film hadn’t even been submitted to the Censorship Board (Lembaga Penapis Filem).

In a latest move to attract attention for this movie, Dr Rozmey has made announcement for the purported screening date on 18 November 2010. An entertainment website (ohbulan!.com) here is poking fun of this latest fiasco by Dr Rozmey:

Dr Rozmey was also reported to have wanted to sue Finas for not getting the 18 November 2010 screening slot for this movie.

At the same time this attitude of him blaming everybody else over his problem has given him a household bad name in the eyes of the media.

He was also said to have been showing his anger at journalists and on occasion refused to answer phone calls: Dr. Rozmey Emosi Dengan Wartawan, Enggan Jawab Telefon

Even some social media activist were said to have created a Facebook hate page for him. I tried to look for it in Facebook but to no avail.
Updates: I found the FB page; Kami tak suka Dr Rozmey yang angkuh which has 5909 likes, I Can Find 100, 000 People That REALLY HATE Datuk Dr Che Rozmey Che Din!! (1351 members) and Kami Tidak Menonton Filem 2 Alam utk Menyumbang 20 Juta Kepada dr Rozmey (1404 likes).

However, his Facebook account is still active.

In the latest news on Dr Rozmey, he is trying to get Baywatch actress, Pamela Anderson to star in his next movie in 2011.

In the mean time lets give him the benefit of the doubt. Lets hope by working with Pam for his next production, he can eventually shed his bad-boy image from the eyes of the media and public.
