Depoliticising the overused "Jangan Dipolitikkan"

In an effort to justify their political schemes and agenda, some Malaysian politicians love to use words or phrases arbitrarily to accuse or lash at their political foe.

A Facebook friend by the name of Ikan Laga (pic above) posted this on his wall:

"Kenapa suka sangat guna ayat JANGAN DIPOLITIKKAN? Haloo politikus-politikus, tugas kamu adalah untuk sosial. Bukan berkata JANGAN. Belajarlah ilmu politik. Jangan perbodohkan orang..."

I think the cliche "Jangan Dipolitikkan" or "Do not politicise" - an overused phrase much associated with Malaysian politicians and also some writers as well is damn funny and silly.

A simple search using Google.com gave me this: about 52,400 for "jangan dipolitikkan" and about 90,400 for "dipolitikkan."

Now isn't that a simple testimony that the phrase "jangan dipolitikkan" and the word 'dipolitikkan' is a stale statement arbitrarily used by politicians and non-politicians alike to answer or question others of their intention, be it good or bad (bad usually!).

Another simple search on Google.com using the word "do not politicise" only gave me 47,300 and the word "politicising" gave me 99,500. Now compare that with the earlier results.

Does this not show that even when you put the phrase or words side by side with the English equivalent (using Google search as a measurement tool), the phrase "jangan dipolitikkan" is an overused cliche even by internet standard.

There you are... and to my fellow writers and bloggers (even if you are a politician), please abstain yourself from utilising the phrase "Jangan Dipolitikkan" or "do not politicise".

Be more creative, use something else!

Thank you.
